Today, I will be sharing my haircare routine! It is nothing much fancy but a few things I do to keep my hair proper and healthy.

My hair’s length is long. It has always been. I mean when I was a kid my mom used to get done many types of haircuts on me but since I was 10 years of age I have been growing my hair and giving it regular trims. Only in the years from 2010 to 2013, I had my hair not even covering my shoulder blades. I had got a haircut done for my high school farewell. That’s the only time I can remember of me having short hair and obviously hating it. Things we do as an adolescent! πŸ˜›

My hair grows faster from around the front cuts compared to the hair from the backends. For now, it touches my lower back and it has maintained that length. I regularly get a layered cut so that not much of my hair gets used for the cut but still has a bit of a style to it.

My hair’s color is very dark brown. I have been a brunetteΒ since birth and haven’t colored or dyed my hair ever.

The texture of my hair is wavy and smooth. I have never straightened or curled my hair ever. Just the basic blow dry setting occasionally.Β Many have asked me how I manage to keep my hair down most of the timeΒ and the fact is actually, I am very used to it now. Many ask if I feel like styling my hair differently. Yes, I do have the feeling I should get done some new style but never felt the need to. I would like to try and temporarily straighten my hair or curl it. But I guess I am more fond of the texture and style that it already has.

Most of the times I love covering my face with my hair as you all know I wasn’tΒ really a confident person (or maybe still am not), it is easier this way to hide from the world πŸ˜›

Oh, my hair has a story of its own haha πŸ˜›

My hair gets quite dry and I struggle with heavy tangles in my hair. Bless my hair stylist πŸ˜› I tend to sweat a lot from my scalp and so during summer, I have to let my hair dry completely so I can tie it up without it getting damaged with the sweat and moisture.

So basically I oil my hair twice in a week and simply shampoo it off. The hair oil that I use is homemade and you can find the recipe here. The shampoo that I use isΒ Khadi Herbal Henna Tulsi Extra Conditioning Shampoo which is paraben free. I oil my hair in the morning and keep it for about an hour before washing it off with the shampoo. Remember, excess oil can also have adverse effects on your hair. If you have extremely dry scalp and hair you can oil more often than usual to get rid of the dryness.Β

If you know me, you will know I am all for natural products and natural remedies. I condition my hair with apple cider vinegar. It helps tons to get rid of tangled hair and lice eggs and what not. I useΒ American Garden Apple Cider Vinegar.Whenever I have dandruff issues I simply apply some yogurt after oiling my hair and works well!

And that is about it actually, a very simple routine I guess. Hope you guys found something helpful from my post. Have a nice day!

  1. I’m also big on natural skin care and hair care – since I’m from Europe, I can recommend alverde Naturkosmetik shampoos which are also silicone-free. If you ever go to Germany, for example, do pick them up at drogerie markt chains of drugstores.

    • Hehe I think if you use Apple cider vinegar it’ll make ua hair look thinner and more straight buh it’ll give a lot of shine and life …perhaps you should oil more! πŸ’•πŸ˜Š
